Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas,

Well i can now say i have a home for christmas even though i have yet to go there. Haha i am happy and sad to say that i have had yet another change and now i am found in ica peru, and i know what your thinking didnt i say last change that elder mckinley left me in chincha alone, well now i am back in the same district as him and my new companion is Elder Tani,, and for the third time in my mission i am opening an area. I dont know what we are going to do but it should be pretty interesting.. And well this week was a normal week in chincha even though all the people are freaked out about an earthquake that apparently all the scientists in peru at least are saying that we are in for a super earthquake. it is supposed to be bigger than the one in 2007.. now i am here in ica and elder mckinley told me that all the people say that this zone ica is apparently supposed to disappear,, i dont think that would be very cool not going to lie.. This weekend was pretty sad because i had to say goodbye to all of my awesome friends in chincha. but it was really cool because th ey are all just awesome. and i will go back to visit them because they are amazing people in that area, and i am hoping that we will be able to make this new area blow up just like elder damian and I were doing up there in chincha. sorry not too much time to write but it was a pretty slow week. but i just want to say that i love you all so much and i am really so happy to be here in my new area. i know that what i am doing really has a purpose and that i really have people that only i will be able to find. Sorry this letter kinda bites but not much time because it took forever to get here.. love you tons..

After Thanksgiving

Alright Family!!!
I love you all sooo much.. I feel super awesome when i open my e mail and see letters from all of the fam,, or almost all of the fam, Korey and Kevin cough cough....wink wink... haha no but i know you love me. Anyway this week was really super awesome not gonna lie. It was really fun because i am now working really well with my companion and that is just making life and the mission super cool. I realized that i havent had a cool companion that really pushed to work harder and harder and talking with all the people possible since i was with Elder Rivasplata. Like i mean i have been working hard but not pushing myself like i should have been.. I mean the mission isnt easy unless your not trying.. you can quote me on that. But i love having a companion that is pushing me and not the other way around, because i dont want to make my companions mad or anything but now i am super happy and working awesomely hard. Anyway this week was pretty interesting. it started off normal working hard telling the youth in the ward that we are going to be giving them responsibilities and having them go and pick up the investigators. they can do more than just companion us and show up in the church. So the last 2 weeks we have been improving this. And well this week not very many people came to church, but it wasnt because we werent working hard and that makes me happy. Other thing that happened this week, We were up in another area that is 20 minutes from the center of our area and we were talking to a sister that we are teaching with her husband. her husband hadnt come home yet so we were just talking to her outside and then two sisters from her evangelical church came up. well we were talking to them for half an hour or something and then we invited them to pray to know that we are missionaries from the only true church in the world. they didnt like that so much! they started yelling and saying that there is no such thing as only one true church. they went on to say that the church they represent isnt true in those words exactly and then they started to cast us away raising their arms in the air saying get thee hence satan. we were calmly talking and they were screaming and i seriously felt like they were full of the devil. it was incredible the difference between them and us. It was a little bit freaky but i told the sister we were talking to i was sorry but we gotta go. we arent here to fight with people about the truth. then the ladies were yelling and laughing why are we gonna ask some dead people for the truth, referring to the book of mormon. ya we just left them there yelling.. it was pretty crazy, one of the weirdest experiences i have ever had. Then this week for thanksgiving i bought a double portion of fries and enjoyed eating them.. hahaha thanksgiving doesnt exist... any way that was my fun experience for the week... I love you all so much and i know this church is true and even more so when all i could do with these sisters that were yelling, was testify of the truth.. i have never felt my testimony so strong, it was a true testimony that i was sharing with them, and they didnt want to hear it... but i love this work and working harder and harder every day.

11/21/2011 Thanksgiving Week

Alright Family!!
So this week went by crazy fast. We were working really hard here in my beautiful Pueblo Nuevo.. we were able to find many new people to teach. My companion really works harder than any companion that i have ever had. It is crazy how many new people we are able to find when we are working hard and being 100 percent obedient. We were able to find 17 new people to teach this week because my companion came here with the idea that we are going to knock doors and so we did! we found some really awesome people to teach and we now have five people with baptismal dates. we are working on putting at least two more with dates. Which is crazy because this area has not had so much success with finding people and people that really want to be baptized. I love this guy he really is one of my favorite companions because he wants to work so hard... Haha he is this first companion i have had that actually wakes up in the morning and to exercise all of the days.
So this week for real it was just crazy miracles. people in the church we had never seen before and other people that seem like golden investigators just popping out of the wood work. Well other than that this week i was reading in 2 nephi 4 and it really is just an awesome chapter in the book of mormon. It teaches so much about the love that nephi had for God.. It talks about humility, patience, and a whole bunch of the attributes of Christ that we all need to work on every day. it is just one of the best ways that we can be better people. I have learned so much from studying the attributes of Christ that we really can be better when we just think about why we are here at all times. WE cannot lose focus, that is why we have the sacrament so that we can remember Christ, not just one day, but for the whole week until we get to start all over again. We always need to remember Christ and act in the way that he would act. Not just in this time as a missionary but in my whole life and i know that it is something that we all need to do. Nephi who everyone looks at as one of the best there ever was even says that he is a sinner and that he is miserable.. we all need to remember that all of this life is a test and that we cannot fail because this is the test matters more than any other test that this world has to offer. We need to keep the faith strong and be awesome at all times. I love you all so much and i hope you all have an amazing week. happy birthday brinly! wow 25 a quarter of century. hope you have an awesome day.

11/14/2011 New Companion

Well family this week passed by really fast and to answer your questions about if i have a new companion-- the answer to that is yes. This week was pretty crazy i learned that my companion had a thing for a girl that is in the ward here, and when we did divisions he was harassing her and so that wasn't ok. when i heard about that we called president and he got changed. From what i know he has an interview with president today and i don't think it is going to go very well.. So my new companion is Elder Damian. he is from ecuador and he is really cool and he really wants to work hard.. To the point that for the first time in my mission i have a companion that wants to do excercise in the morning. so i am actually not getting fatter but i am getting stronger and maybe a little skinnier. But this week was really cool because we had the opportunity to have a little 12 year old accompany us. it was awesome because he is probably the coolest most powerful little kid that i have ever met in my life. We were out and my new companion is a real go getter, so we are knocking doors and we are contacting all of the people that we can. While we were contacting with him he would just be straight up honest with the people and he would come up just saying that we are here to baptize them and help them come closer to God. Now it sounds like it would be way too direct but to be honest the way he does it as just a little kid it is just awesome. We feel like it is just a million times better to just tell them that because that really is our purpose as missionaries. it just helps them to know why we are really there.. So i learned that the reason we dont tell them that is because we are afraid of how they are going to react and they will reject us. But i was thinking if they are going to reject us when we invite them it is better that they reject us in the beginning than waste our time with them. So that was one of the craziest things i have learned this week. But this week we were able to have our baptism of joseph and we are really working on finding new people to teach. i think i will be here in this area for Christmas now that all of this happened with my companion. That made me really happy to be honest. we are going to make miracles happen with my new companion in this area. I know this church is true and it really just boosted my energy to hear the testimony of a little kid telling other people why i am here. It was a real testimony to me and this little kid only has one year as a member and is incredible. I love this church and the chance that i have to teach other people what i have experienced in my life and the happiness i have always had. I love you family and all of my friends for the examples they are for me.. and if i am not mistaken ryo you be in your last month before the mission, prepare hard brother and i hope your enjoying every minute of it.
Love Elder Farr

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST....

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST....
Well there goes half of the mission, can you believe it.. i really don't think I can.. haha it is just really funny to me because everyone said that time passes really fast but i didn't expect it to pass like it is. This week i had the opportunity to have a family home evening that the ward set up and well lets just say that it ended up with me just a mess covered in eggs and other really gross stuff, well just flour and eggs, but it was pretty hilarious! turns out my companion had been secretly spreading the word that i was completing one year.. haha it was pretty fun on my one year day.
This week we were able to place two people with baptismal dates and we are working with a family of 7 kids that could be baptized but they just need to understand why it is important and come to church. They are really cool but they don't want to wake up at 8 to come to church.. And well other than that this week went by really fast. I cant think of an experience that was too crazy and i don't have all the time in the world to write.. So today all i am going to say is that i am going to work even harder in this the second year of my mission. I am so happy to be out here working in the Lord's work, finding the people that the Lord has prepared for me and for my companion.. I know that they are here because there have been some people that all we did was say hi and they were like ya come and visit us, and then they want to be baptized.. I know this is the work of the Lord and that we as missionaries have the chance to dedicate these two years of our lives in the service of the Lord. Well I love you all so much and i love that i have such an amazing family and friends that are supporting me in this work,,, i just realized i have written work a lot in this paragraph.. you know why because it is work.. i look at this as my best and favorite job where i can work and give it my all and just be happy doing it. I love you all so much and keep it real..

Happy Halloween and Hump Day

Alrighty then family!!!
Well this week was pretty solid. We had the normal number of lessons but we didn't really find very many new people this week. That was a little bit of a bummer. But my companion and I are really doing a lot better. I mean we aren't perfect but I think we are able to get over the little things that happen. To be honest I don't understand why little things get between us so much. Haha I have never thought I was very hard to get along with. I dont have very many problems with the way people are. But I have learned that one thing gets on my nerves now more that anything else in the world.. haha It just so happens that the one thing is something that ALL of my family has gotten mad at me for more than once.. that is when somebody pees on the seat.. there is nothing worse than sitting down to do your business and sitting and being wet with ya.....
This week I was reading 1 nephi 20 which helped me with a whole bunch of different things. I hope that you will all try to read that because it is a really cool chapter. I am loving the Book of Mormon these days. I have really learned how to study and really search the scriptures. I can tell you that I think that is where my personal testimony has changed and grown the most.
Next I would just like to thank you all for writing me this week with a lot of the same things. haha which was pretty funny because all of you were so kind in mentioning this week is hump day.. haha has it really been one year since I left home?? "But that's impossible"... haha I think my favorite part is that I have been gone a year and mom is sending me pictures of the house and yard. Absolutely nothing has changed outside since I left.... Why?? I don't want to hear about the backyard and weeding that junk when I get home.. oh and to answer your question Kelli... yes I plan on burning me a shirt.. haha so that I have something to mark my time and remember, not because of other reasons...
So I think that is about all I got for this week. I am so happy to be out here in Peru and it is pretty crazy to believe how long it has been. I can go back and read what I wrote one year ago in my journal and it is pretty entertaining. I know this is the work of the Lord and I love every minute of this work. Thank you all for supporting me in this time of my mission.

Quenton is in let the fun begin....
Haha well family this week was pretty awesome not gonna lie. We were able to make our companionship better and we were talking more together and we are happier these days. I really dont think anything has changed it is just accept the other person for who he is. And hopefully we can keep this rolling because this week was changes and my companion and I will continue together for at least another 6 weeks. But this week we were able to complete the baptism that we had planned. The hna. Avila got baptized in the nice cold water and then she came out and bore her awesome testimony. Also this week we were searching for really old investigators and found one. she told us that she listened to the missionaries with another lady that lives 3 houses down the road. so we went to that house and in the house we found two new teenagers that now have baptismal dates for the end of november. It was awesome!! We had 17 lessons with members and then we also found 10 new investigators. so in the past two weeks we have found 22 new investigators. Our area is rolling and changing really fast. When i got here it was nothing. we were lucky to get up to 10 lessons with members and we only had 4 or 5 new people in a normal week. I will say that we are really thinking of how we can make this area work and really grow to its potential.
So in the changes for this week unfortunately was the end of my time with Elder Mckinley, he got changed down to ica. so he is in the one place in the whole country that i know of that has diet coke.. i think he will send me some in one of these coming weeks. Haha also i can happily say that we found a little kid that could very well be one of the smartest most interesting 10 year olds that i have ever met. he is ready to be baptized and we found him this week.. he came to the baptism alone and then to church alone and well he is set for the 19th of november. but it could very easily move to a closer date. haha we are really loving this area.. And the ward is getting more and more animated to help and work. also this week i can yet again say i got to talk in sacrament meeting.. For those that are counting this is the third time in this area. i am pretty sure that means i have talked more here then in the home ward. i started my talk and then after i started i actually changed my whole topic and went and read the parable of the seeds... I dont know what that is called in english but i went and read parts of that and explained them. then i related it to the atonement and it was actually really cool because that had absolutely nothing to do with my original topic. but everyone came and said they really liked my talk so that was cool.. I love this mission and my area and i am getting to love my companion. just needed a little more time to get used to him i guess.. I love working hard now in the mission. it is just really satisfying when you can get back from a nice days work finding new people, inviting them to be baptized, and then do it again the next day.. I love this work and I am just really happy to be here and know that all is rolling on at home normal as usual.. I love you all so much and hope you have yet another good week..
