"Well my momma told me alligators are angry cause they got all them
teeth and no toothbrush..."
Now family you might ask why i would start my letter with a quote that
i have not heard in forever! let me explain.. So my explanation is
this.. my companion, or should i say ex-companion, always said crazy
things like that. Things that his mom had taught him like
you can't eat and then shower because if you do you will feel sick.
your body is concentrating on the water that is hitting your body more than digesting the food. so the food just sits there and then you are sick..there are other ones but that is the only one that i can remember
right now, but they are all hilarious.. And now the big news for the
day is that i have CHANGED MY AREA! it was really sad to leave the
area and elder tello.. i said my goodbyes to my favorite families that
are in chacarillas and it was not fun to leave my pensionista because
she is awesome and she took good care of us. My new companion is elder rivasplata.. and my new area is laderas de villa.. it is a much poorer area and my companion says that it is his worst house he has had in his one year so far in the mission. but it actually seems pretty awesome.. i guess i will find out how it really is later, but i already like it because it doesn't have freakin bunk beds. which just makes me happy because i really did not like the bunk beds in our first place. Also
this week we had 4 investigators come to the capilla in chacarillas so
that was really cool. but now i am gone and my companion needs to write
me to tell me how it all goes with them. the area over there was
not changing so i am pretty happy to have a new area.. my companion
told me we have tons of investigators and it is almost always in this
area that they get baptized.. he said he had 6 baptisms last month and
so i am really looking forward to knowing some more people.. It is
crazy that my brother nate dog is leaving for the mission this week. i
can't believe i left 5 months ago.. i don't think about my time very
often but it has been five months and i get to call home in may!! that
will be my six month mark. just like sports i get to call at
the end of the first quarter and lets be real in sports the first
quarter always feels the longest, so we will see if that is true also.
but time is flying and it is awesome out here..
And last and most important... this week is my mommas birthday!! the
best mom in the world gets to celebrate yet another birthday without
one of her sons. but i think these are her favorite birthdays because
she gets letters that say how amazing she is and how much we love her.
it is so true that my mom is amazing! she has done everything for me
and i can't do anything without her. there are so many reasons that she
is the best but most of all is because she loves me and my family and
keeps all of us close and not fighting. she only wants for us to all be
happy together and she holds our family together.. i had a lady we
were teaching in chacarillas and all her kids were baptized but she
wasn't and she said it is ok, all i want is for them to be happy. all
i could do was bear my testimony that wanting the best for your kids
is all well and good, but they want the best for you.. they don't want
to be in the celestial kingdom without their mom.. it just isn't the
same.. life isn't the same without my mom and it is so much better when
she is happy. so i know that my mom is amazing and that she
is an angel for our family.. love you tons mom!. you don't even know...

What it is!!
Well ya another crazy fast week down and this one was less eventful,
because we had almost nobody to teach. all the investigators we have
been teaching went on vacation or were helping there families move
into the college area, so we couldn't meet with them. this week
elder tello and I were trying to find more people to teach but
people just said, "no we are doing ok".. so that made this
week kinda slow; when the people have no interest. This week we
started teaching a guy that lives in our building. he talked to us last
week and was like, where you guys from? he thought we were both from the U.S.. i said i was from the estados unidos and my companion said trujillo. the guy was shocked because my companion is whiter than me.. it was funny. everyone thinks i am the peruano until they look at my eyes they say.. haha it is really cool. this guys name is fernando and he wanted us to teach him english. we went up to his
apartment to teach him english. we walked in sat down and he asked
us.. so as missionaries how do you guys start teaching.. and so we
showed him by teaching him. the first two times we taught him it
was only the gospel. he is really cool and for the last two years has been
suffering from vertigo.. everyday he says he is always dizzy and at
times feels like he is going to fall into the street. but the day we
started teaching him his symptoms stopped and they have been gone this whole week... coincidence..... i think not!! that is really the main
experience this week. we now have one investigator that is really cool
and the rest we have been teaching for 3 months and they do not want to
progress.. also we have had one investigator a chubby man, named julio
who is really jolly and like santa. every week he says,"ya i am
going to the church and then sunday he is never there.. it is just
sad, because he says he wants to get baptized, but wont take the step
of going to church.. other than that we have changes this week and
it is apparently very likely for me to go out of this area, because they are
going to close one of the chacarillas areas. they are going to make it one big area and my companion will probably run that.. but hakuna matata! the work is the work no matter what area i am in, right.. that is my week
and i know that this gospel is true and can have an awesome. legendary
effect in a persons life if you just accept it and dive into it with
full faith. It can take us all the way to the top and no other
religion knows that we have this awesome perfect plan to guide us in
life. I love you all tons and i know this gospel is true. thanks to all
my examples in my life..

What it is!!!
Alright so another week's over and this one went by faster than any other one, i think, but i do not have a clue why!! This week we had a bunch of meetings and one was a multi zonal one and president manning was there. he talked about how we need to be completely obedient and how we need to do all of our studying and stuff and thank goodness my companion is really good with all of that. So we do all of that daily, he is really good at keeping me obedient. actually he doesn't get up on time so i get up at 630 and he is up around 7. that is his only problem but we are trying.
It was crazy because on friday we heard about the earthquake and all that in japan. we went to the house of the family caseda and she was freaking out. she is a recent convert and she asked us why this is happening in japan and why would God let it happen. i am not even kidding you, i knew exactly what to say and do.. it was weird because part A. it was in spanish and i actually knew what to say. And part B. i opened my scriptures and turned to mormon 8:29-30 keep in mind i dont remember this scripture, but i was seriously led to it because i opened the book and looked right at these verses... it was incredible because these verses basically say exactly what is going on in japan right now. I am seriously freaking out because i have never in my life had an experience where i opened the scriptures to something i hadnt studied recently to teach somebody. but it was just completely new for me! i know that the spirit will guide us in our lives, and i now have a stronger testimony that the book of mormon is true. It fortells of our days in so many different ways! I love this gospel and i have learned so much since i have come out here. and i know that all the mission is is a leap of faith and once you do it you are only opening yourself up to learning more! it is an incredible gospel! i love you all tons for all that you do. and i would be nowhere without my family.

Alrighty then family!!
So it really is incredible to me to know that i have now been out
here in the mission for over ya 4 months. Time is flying and out in the
field it is flying like a jet, which is about 3 times faster than a
normal plane i am going to say. also this week i looked at a calender
and thought to myself, it has been a long time since i had a diet
coke... well i counted how many days it has really been and guess
what?? I have now passed the 100 day mark of not having a diet coke. i
feel like i am in one of those help groups.. also i would just like to
say that i had no problems with it and everyone always said that i
wouldnt be able to go without.
Also this month we have had 3 little earthquakes.. i slept through
two of them and during the third we were walking. And for your information.. Before the earthquake in chili a couple years ago-- the last major earthquake in that area was 40 years before.. the last major earthquake in ica, peru before that one was 40 years before. and now the fun part,,, the last major earthquake in the lima area is 40 years ago this year! so all the people are scared we are going to have an earthquake, it really is all people have talked to us about this week.
And so this week was a little bit interesting. Me and my companion are
doing great together and ya we are really good friends, but we do have
very different personalities which makes me happy, if i can get along
with him. So this week we were working really hard and every single
person we tried to contact was just like ya no esta bien i don't want
to talk to you right now. not kidding all of them it was horrible in
that sense. But also this week we set up another baptism for the 19th
of this month so that is really exciting. it is a fat little nice man
name julio. He is cool and his life has blown up because he told his
wife he had an affair a couple years back, so that he could truly
repent, she left him.... ya it is pretty crazy. also we had more lessons this week than last week which was great because in the lessons i can speak whatever i want to. It is like hey your in a lesson and now you can talk better in spanish then in english.. it is awesome! i love it here and i totally know that this is where i need to be and that the spirit really does guide you when you are worthy to have it with you, and you are praying for some help. i do not want to be anywhere else right now because this is a challenge and i like to be challenged to see what i can handle. this area is rich people that think they have it all but i know that they don't, and i need to break their walls down with the help of the spirit and that means i need to live straight up awesome.. it is like my favorite song right now says.. "there are a bunch of people out there just waiting for what we can give em` Truth, Freedom, Saaalvation!! we are not the ordinary fearlessly extraordinary workin righteouss......." Saturdays Warrior..
Also i want to say happy birthday to Granpa, Carrie, and Alex because
you have all had crazy impacts in my life which has led me to this
point in life and i just want to thank you for all you have done for
me.

Where to begin!
Alrighty then so another week down family and to be honest this one flew by faster than any other. it was crazy we were walking everywhere and nobody would listen to us when we went to their house, so we didnt have a ton of lessons. but when we taught i know that the spirit was there! it was crazy in some of the lessons the people started crying. it was awesome but you could just tell the spirit was smacking people in the faces. Well yesterday only consisted of my second baptism. a little girl named adriana kelli sandoval lozano. she is 11 and it was really good, again i didnt fail so i am 2 for 2 haha. but other than that this week was really mostly just walking and trying to find some more people to teach. we have decided to just kinda stop teaching two or three of the families we have been teaching because they have not progressed at all in these 8 weeks. so we are trying to find some more people. Also i read in preach my gospel chapter four and it is all about following the spirit and i am really trying to do that more completely because he knows who is ready for me to teach, and i mean me specifically because i can teach now in spanish no problem. sometimes it aint perfect spanish but i can now explain what i am trying to say in different words. this week we had like three families drop there jaw when they heard i only had two months speaking spanish they say i speak really well and said that i was understanding too. they were shocked because before they had an elder that didnt try, had a bad attitude, and understood nothing and he had been out for 8 months so that was a confidence boost for me. anyway i love you all a ton. i know that this church is true and the book of mormon has all the answers, and that we need to follow the guidance of the spirit because he wants to help us all the time. we just need to learn how to listen to him. but he is always talking. always!
